MORE ABOUT AZURE NETAPP FILES

Enterprises are rapidly embracing cloud to take advantage of the scale, agility and economies offered by public cloud.  But, not all organisations are in a position to meet their cloud mandate.  With 65% of enterprise workloads still on-premises and nearly half of these workloads requiring file-based data, deploying such workloads in the cloud is a challenge that often requires expensive code modification and a compromise on the user experience.

To address this, NetApp and Microsoft have come together to develop a powerful enterprise file shares service that delivers simplified data management and unmatched performance for Linux and Windows file-based applications.

Organisations can now avail of enterprise grade storage, management, security and protection with Azure NetApp Files, an Azure first-party service for migrating and running the most demanding enterprise file-workloads in the cloud including databases, SAP, and high-performance computing applications with no code changes.

WHAT WORKLOADS ARE RECOMMENDED FOR AZURE NETAPP FILES?

Azure NetApp Files can support any POSIX-compliant workload that requires shared file storage. The service is offered in three performance tiers to fit your workloads: Standard for static web content, file shares, and database backups; Premium, comparable to mainstream SSD performance and suitable for databases, enterprise apps, analytics, technical applications, and messaging queues; and Ultra for most performance-intensive applications like those in high performance computing.
